I am no blank expert, and do have trouble explaining , so cut me some slack. I am not familiar with Loomis IM6 vs. IM7, but am with Lami. I took 2 of the same casting blanks - 1 IM6 (XC84MH) and th other IM7 (IMC84MH) . THe difference I felt was - the IM6 was slightly heavier in weight, and was thicker all around - butt & tip. The blanks had similar actions, but the IM7 was crisper - it felt a little stiffer. Re: IM6 versus IM7 blank specifications

Assuming all else is equal, the IM7 blanks will be a bit lighter for the same stiffness. It has a higher stiffness to weight ratio (modulus). ................. Re: IM6 versus IM7 blank specifications

Also the IM7 blanks are more sensitive for feeling the bottom. Thanks Neal Cissel Re: IM6 versus IM7 blank specifications

... And that is because they have a higher stiffness to weight ratio. For any two blanks with equal stiffness, the lighter of the two will be more sensitive. .............. Re: IM6 versus IM7 blank specifications
