I am starting my second project and am going to build a 7'6" 3Wt. 5pc. I am going to use REC recoil guides and am wondering what finish will be the best to use for these flexible guides. I am looking at Flexcoat light or LS supreme. Any opinions/ suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Brian Re: REC Recoil guides, what finish?

I think either would be fine, both can be applied very lightly, I personnally stick with the LS Supreme. Re: REC Recoil guides, what finish?

I have a set of recoil guides but have not wrapped them yet. I am going to use a security wrap, either in front or wrapped around the guide, and I will use Flexcoat lite. I have taken wraps loose that were done with this stuff and it really sticks the guide to the blank and in the wraps strong. LS may be just fine, but I have not taked wraps coated with it apart. I do rember Ralph saying that in his opinion the "other coatings" stuck to the rod too well, so I took that as a reccomendation. And I like LS also. I keep a bottle of each going. And I am not an expert. I have build just a few rods with each coating. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
