I have an old Fenwick fly rod that has a paper label on it that reads: F80ULRRCS/Fly Rod, 8', Ultra Light Action. I t was given to me about 20 years ago by my Father in law. Anyone know what weight it might be and anything else about it? The Fenwick trade mark decal is still in good shape but the original Fenwick markings on the rod are not readable. Thanks Bob Re: Old Fenwick Fly Rod?

It's odd that a fly rod would carry the nomenclature of "ultra-light action." The Common Cents System could put you on the right track for finding the best line for your particular use, but other than that I think you'd have to dig up an old Fenwick catalog somewhere and try to match that model number in order to see exactly how Fenwick rated it. ......... Dear Bob The number you refer to on the paper tag is not a Fenwick Model number. My best guess from your description is that this is a model FF80. This model was made for many years by Fenwick and then in the late 1980's the model number was changed to FF 805 (Fenwick Fly 8'0" for a 5 wt line. I agree with Tom that this would not be classed as an Ultralight rod. Regards Vic Cutter Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
