Hello All- I am painting some Fuji ECS and NPS reel seats. Prepping, priming and painting are no problem - they look fantastic. What I am concerned about is finishing. Does anybody who has done this have any suggestions for a very durable low build clear high-gloss top coat? A very thin sprayable finish would be preferable. Thanks in advance for your help. Bill, Try either Varithane or Dephthane spray urethane. Very hard. Very clear. Lynn Re: Top Coat for Painting Fuji Reel Seats

I wash them, then sand any defects out. Clean with a cloth or paper towel. Spray paint, just till covered. Then coat with a thin coat of permagloss. Looks great. Re: Top Coat for Painting Fuji Reel Seats

How do the threads hold up after a reel is put on/off a few times?? Does the locking part of the seat scrape the paint in the threads?? Mike Re: Top Coat for Painting Fuji Reel Seats

Any painted object will wear when you rub it over and over again. The permagloss is the hardest i know of. They do wear well Re: Top Coat for Painting Fuji Reel Seats

I agree with Bill, perma-gloss. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
