I am building a Muskie rod and would like to know if it is OK to epoxy a weight in the butt section before I put the cap on it. Any other methods of balancing ? Thanks in advance, Mark Re: Balancing a Muskie rod ???

Mark, Personally, I am against adding extra weight to those nice lightweight muskie blanks and I understand somewhat the desire to do so in balancing with certain reels and not having the rod feeling top heavy. Yes, if you need to, probably the best choice is to add the weight to the butt section before capping it. Do it in small increments and add only what you need for the 'balance'.
