Have read all posts to line wt Vs lure wt, and how to tell the weight of a fly line no problem. Ihave a" spinning rod blank", with the secs listed below, 5ft. 1 pcs, line wt 2-4, butt 0.250, tip 4.5 action slow, power ultr/lt what lure wt is this blank rated for, where can I find out! Its a spinning rod "not" a fly rod. Also have a salmon/steelhead rod blank "spinning" 10-6, 2pcs, line wt 10-17, butt 0.570, tip 5.5, action med. power med/hvy. this is a" spinning rod blank" which will be made into a two handed over head fly rod, what wt fly line will it take! Re: wrong answer to question!

Vaughn, On the 5 footer, if you looked at some of the other mfg's catalogs, you will see the ultralights 2-4 lb rods will handle 1/16 to 1/4 oz lures. Some say 1/32 oz on the low range, but I think that is the exception more than the rule. I'm not a fly fisherman, so I can't help you with the Steelhead rod. Sorry.
