OK, My question for today is this: what is a good choice of wrapping threads and U.V. protection. I would like to have colors last. Does Color perserver help to prevent fade? Thanks in advance. Mark Schulte Re: Winding thread and U.V. rays

It has been my experience that unless you cover the wraps with a dark coating the thread will eventually fade somewhat whether it has CP on it or not. Funny thing is that with the finishes that tend to turn yellow or brown this happens less as I assume the darkening finish serves to block some of the UV rays. I think when you see 'UV Inhibitors' you are really looking at something that is put there to protect the structural properties of the stuff and not the coloration. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
