I was looking today at the Moment of Fame website at peoples rods they had built and many of them had weaves and wraps close to the grip and some of the weaves and wraps were very intricate. I would like to know how to do that but I dont know where to start. Are there any websites that have a picture tutorial on how to weave and/or wrap? If there are, please tell me. Also, are there any good websites where you can post pics and look at pics of other peoples works of art? I would love to see other rods to get ideas. Thanks Adam Re: How to's and pics.

Mudhole and Clemmens Tackle, to name a few, have videos for sale which show how to do what you want to learn. They are a good way to start. Also check with tackle stores in your area for rodbuilders that you may be able to talk into some lessons. The books by Clemmens and Kirkman also show you how to get started doing fancy wraps and weaves. Re: How to's and pics.

I would mention Artie Herbert's video on basic weaving (most of the sponsors here sell it) as a good tutorial for learning the basics. You can post photos at moment of fame if you would like. It's good site and the fishing rods seem to be the most popular aspect of the entire site. This Kastorff fellow is reputed to be able to produce some nice weaves. Maybe he'll look into doing a video at some point. ............................. Re: How to's and pics.

Right on Tom. I have admired Jim Kastorff's work from the photo galleries in RodMaker magazine. His weaves and wraps are tight, contain beautiful colors, and the finish is always very level. I'd love to see more of your work Jim. Re: How to's and pics.
