Murphy's Law struck my bench, I had a rod turning on a drying motor after a final coat of finish (flex coat lite) I went to sleep woke up early and found a disaster, seems that the rod un- fasten its self from the chuck dropped onto the table and a paper towel adhered its self to two of the wrapped guides. Before stripping off the flex coat and possibly damaging the wrap is there any solvent that would help my wrap dilemma Re: Emergency

Maybe after it cures you could remove the towel with a razor blade and then buff the finish with a grey scotchbrite pad and the add another finish coat. This should keep you away from the threads. Mike Moran Alleghany Anglers www.alleghanyanglers.com Re: Emergency

Agree with Mike, let it cure for 18-24hrs. Then take a brand new razor knife (exacto) and carefully shave off the finish. Kind of like widdling. Then reapply finish before the 48hour time is up and there is no need to scotch-brite it. Don't worry about how the finish looks before applying new coat. The new coat will meld into the old (if no more than 48hours old) and all those knife marks, hazing, roughness will magically disappear. Believe me, I have mucked up more than my share of finish jobs and not wanting to do a rewrap, have used this technique alot. Let us know how it comes out. Re: Emergency
