Gen4 and Rod Bond shelf life

Hi,

I just went through my storage and found a box of items.
There was a brand new pack of Gen4 which was from January 2023

Same with U-40 Rod Bond.

Are these two still good? I was under the impression that Gen4 had some shelf life limitation.

Thanks!
Ben

They will set and cure per normal, even after many many years. With the Generation 4 it might be that it won't be as bright and/or clear after some time, but it'll still set and cure. You can check with the mfg for any specifics.

The Ron Bond will be as good now as it ever was. If the resin has crystalized over time, you can rejuvenate it by zapping in in the microwave in 5 or 10 second bursts. Sitting it in a pan of hot water is ever better, but will take a bit longer.

They may have yellowed a bit but will work fine.

Thanks for the comments!

I tried, the U-40 Rod bond and it works.

The Gen4 also works but as you guys said.... It has a tad of a yellow hint to it, This will be my black thread finish.

All epoxy wrap finishes are going to yellow, either in the bottle or later on the wraps. So I wouldn't worry about that too much.
