Hi, curious at the expo reception Tom talked about a rod sleeve protector he used to put over rods to give to people. I am making a few rods for friends and was wondering what sleeves people recommend. The rod is a 7’ spinning rod.
Thanks Mitch Re: Rod sleeve

The product was Sack-Ups and they were at the Expo. There are a number of good rod sleeves that add additional value to any custom rod sale. The "finger-trp" style are not at all expensive. Check with some of the sponsors here as they may offer something similar.

I went to a fabric store years ago and got a few types of fabrics that I thought would be great for rod sleeves and then brought them to a sewing shop and told them what I wanted them to do and they did a stellar job . I use them to store my surf rods and each sleeve has two separate sections which stores the butt and top half separately . Re: Rod sleeve

I had the same experience as chris with custom, fabric rod socks.
I had some four-piece socks made for a couple fly rods and they turned out great! Custom length, colors....etc. Some can even embroider a name, logo, or art work to go ultra-custom. Price-point matters, I know. It may not be as expensive as you think. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
