Anyone have some guide spacing for an NFC MB725 blank and the new NFC Altas Guides.
Both Casting and Spinning layouts for NFC atlas guides, I plan to do a static line test to get final placement but looking for more of a starting point and size suggestions. Thanks in advance for everyone's support and comments. DMC Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/04/2024 03:19PM by Dana Christensen. Re: NFC MB725 C602 Blank with new NFC Atlas Guide Questions

I have a build on an MB 725 C6O2 blank on the dryer right now. Casting rod, conventionally wrapped, using Fuji guides. It appears the Atlas guides are modeled after the Fuji's so my spacing would at least give you the starting point you're looking for.
The guides I used are Fuji T2's. Butt guide KW 10, second guide up. KW 5.5, three KB 5's, and 7 KT 5's. 12 guides total, plus the tip top. The number of guides you may use will depend on the type of line path you prefer relative to the natural curve of the blank. The first number will be how far I placed the butt guide from the face of the reel. After that, the spacing will be from guide to guide. 21.5" - 7' - 6.75" - 5.5" - 4.875" - 3.625" - 3.5" - 3.375" - 3.25" - 3.25" - 3.25" - 3.25" The last guide is 3.125" from the tip top. I used an NFC XO Skeleton casting seat / grip for the build and the fact that it does not flex at all, really changes how the rod bends when fully loaded per CCS standards, so while some of the spacing in the upper mid section of the blank seem like they're too close together, two line static load showed that kind of spacing for the line path I prefer. I’ve not used the NFC Atlas spinning guides yet. However, they are about the same heights as the Fuji KR guides for a given ring size, so they can be used in a KR concept. They only caveat being is they don’t make a size 5.5M. This precludes using them in a16H based reduction train. For a 20H based reduction train you can use 20H, 10H, and 6L coupled with the runner size of your choice. Could also use 20H, 10H, 6M, and 5.5L, with the 5.5L being used as the choke/high belly guide. The KR GPS at Anglers Resource will give you a good starting point for laying your guide train.
