I like to go to the tackle shops to look at wraps and handles on new rods to get ideas. I saw this new Shimano and really like the handle. The seat and grip is easy, but looking for suggestions on how to put together the back nut and how to do that epoxy taper on the butt.
It is the Shimano Expride. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/22/2024 09:07AM by Tom Kirkman. Re: New Shimano rod

Willing to bet that split grip is a preformed tube that slips on, an epoxy taper would be to time intensive for rod production. Re: New Shimano rod

The link may be getting removed because it's a link that allows the purchase of the rod. If the site isn't a sponsor of this board, it would be very understandable that such a link would be removed.
Pretty much like when Barney Fife told those two farmers selling produce by the road, that they had to move along because their business was cutting in on the local merchants business. Anyhow, it's easy enough for others to pull up a picture of the new Expride and see what the rear grip looks like. And has been postulated already, that is definitely a separate piece that installs over the butt of the blank. Like Spencer said, there would be way too much labor involved for it to be a hand built epoxy ramp, on a factory rod. Especially one in that price range. Re: New Shimano rod
