How should I think when choosing tip tops for fly rods? On one fly rod I will have size 1/0 (OD 5.7 ID 4.3) single leg guides and on the other rod size 1 (OD 6.5 ID 5.0) single leg guides.
There’s these 3 tip tops I can choose from in the same series and color: - Seymo DLC standard tip top" (5.5mm ring size) - Seymo OST DLC tip tops (7mm ring size) - Seymo 731 XL hayfork DLC tip tops (8,5mm ring size) How should I think. For the size 1/0, which tip top is best in size for that, the standard 5,5mm? And if I choose size 1 single leg guides, should I then choose one size bigger tip top (7mm) or go with standard there as well? Re: Choosing tip tops for fly rods (Size)

The opening on the tiptop should be at least as large as the opening on the smallest guides. Larger will work as well, but isn't necessary.

I assume when they write that the loop size is 5.5mm, that is the actual inside diameter of the guide? Re: Choosing tip tops for fly rods (Size)

On wire guides yes. On ceramics, no.
