Fuji MN Tops

I have some new T2 MNTT Micro Tops and noticed they are welded were the tang comes off the end by the tube hole. So I thought I had some defective ones. Started looking at my supply and found a GMMNST in a ring size 8 and it's not welded either.

Are all the MN tops not welded? Thought this was the way of the world.

Since it's a medium strength tip top, attached by the tube and a wrap to the rod, it would seem reasonable it may not need welded. It would take a bunch of of load that the tip will never see to move those braces. Are the HN series welded? After taking a peek, it looks like the HN tips also are not welded.

None of the MN tips I’ve dealt with have been welded at the tang/end of the tube.

I have built out quite a few MN tops and can confirm none were welded. None have had any reported failure either (all built & used for saltwater/pelagic fish).

Thanks all, I was a bit confused on this one for a while.
