That's a sweet looking rod!
Did you sand the blank before wrapping the guides? I just got 10 NFC blanks and was wondering how the wraps go with those ribs on some. They came with decals but I would like to put my name on the rods too so wondering what type and size of pen you did yours with. I write about as legibly as a doctor but can make it legible if I work at it. As it's a personal touch it doesn't need to be perfect anyways. I'm planning to do most of them with cork grips I will make myself but did get the XO-Skeleton one piece casting grip/reel seat from NFC for the 13' blank I got for a new baitcaster. Will be the first one I build. “The gods do not deduct from man’s allotted span the hours spent in fishing.” - Herbert Hoover Re: New build!

Looks good. Those long inscription areas can be tricky but looks like you nailed it. Nice handle to. Re: New build!

That’s really nicely done! Simplicity, with just a little pop added in a rod is usually very attractive. Re: New build!

Love that thin trim band in the center of the guide wrap. Re: New build!

I’ve heard guys on here don’t have any trouble with them so Im not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have trouble packing them tight. I wrote on the blank with one of those old timey calligraphy pens that you dip in ink. Re: New build!
