2 parts
I was doing a box pattern that I got from visual wrap and had to cut it. Some of the boxes had much more open space and I was having to overlap in other areas. 1) Is this a packing problem? 2 what is the spacing for size A thread per mm or 2mm? Obviously would like to avoid this problem and improve. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Re: cross wrap spacing

Could be a packing problem - but could also be you need to account for tapered offset and adjust your spacing as you gonthr length of the blank due to the taper of the blank
Not sure what you mean about spacing for A per mm or 2mm. Your spacing between centers will depend on your blank diameters Re: cross wrap spacing

I would like to know how many passes roughly should fill the box. Re: cross wrap spacing

Do tape samples, layout strands of whatever size thread you want, 1" lengths. Measure the widths, 5 6,7,8 or more strands. Stick the thread to tape, cover with clear tape and you have a record for future patterns. I think Vivona's book has all that info. Re: cross wrap spacing

I mean the book has the info on the thread size. Re: cross wrap spacing

Maderia is generally 4.1 threads/mm for square spacing - though it will depend a bit on your individual packing Re: cross wrap spacing

Hello Francis.
This is an oldie but goodie, I almost forgot I had.Hope it helps (and still works with newer threads). Threads Per Centimeter 00 Silk Threads = 80 Threads Per Centimeter = 203 Per Inch 00 Reg. Nylon Threads = 88 Threads Per Centimeter = 225 A - Reg. - NCP Nylon Threads = 57 Threads Per Centimeter = 145 Per Inch. A – HT Metallic Threads = 67 Threads Per Centimeter = 169 Per Inch. B - Threads = Threads Per Centimeter = Per Inch. C – NCP – Trimar Threads = 102 Threads Per Centimeter = 260 Per Inch. D – Reg. Nylon – HT Matallic Threads = 102 Threads Per Centimeter = 260 Per Inch. D – NCP Threads = 30 Threads Per Centimeter = 77 Per Inch. E Threads = 30 Threads Per Centimeter = 77 Per Inch. EE Threads = Threads Per Centimeter = Per Inch. 60# Poly = Threads Per Centimeter = Per Inch. 40# Poly = 41 Threads Per Centimeter = 104 Per Inch. Per Inch / 2.54 = Per CM. Per Inch / 25.4 = Per MM. Per CM / 10 = MM. Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
