dark shadows

After the first application of epoxy {thread master lite} I have dark bleed through areas at each foot of hook keeper. Two coats of undiluted CP Theadmaster prior.
I have only sealed the threads above the forgrip, no guides. This has never occured before in 15 years of builds. There is a recent thread above that indicates this maybe caused by CP. The blank is a painted SV 5 from Rod Geeks. Any idesa? Re: dark shadows

> Any ideas? Yep in this fast pace world, People need to Slow Down and be thorough, Their is no Excuse, - - You missed a few spots when you applied your CP. {I've been their as well.} Tear it Off and rewrap it and move on. John - The key to using CP on guide wraps is all in the 1st coat. That 1st coat has to be a "flood" coat & make sure all the tunnels are filled before it dries. I will do my 2nd coat 10-15 minutes after the 1st to ensure all tunnels/gaps are completely filled. If the 1st coat dries with "pockets", you can do 2, 3, or 4 coats over & you will still have the "bleed" issue. Extra CP wont find those pockets once the 1st coat is dry but epoxy will. Could be a thread packing issue as well. Re: dark shadows

Thanks Kerry.......This was a kick in the pants. Have built since 07........first time this happened. Probably blame on age.....73 this April but still feel like a kid. This rod is an addition to my collection.....walleye at Findlay Lake, Ont. this July. Re: dark shadows

I've got a similar problem I mentioned in the above post on Finish and Guide Tunnels. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
