All the blanks you mentioned will work fine. My favorite and now my friends favorite too is the NFC Xray SJ 683 for vertical jigging walleye in the Mississippi River. My second favorite is the rainshadow RX 8 62ml. This precedes the immortal line. Re: Newbie blank question

Thanks for the info Spencer, I've been researching all the blanks I've mentioned and more for quite some time now. Part of that research is asking for real world info from builders like yourself on here that have way more experience then I do. Spec sheets are just spec sheets, they make a great starting point but, real world experience is worth alot more.
Thanks again for all the info guys, it's greatly appreciated Re: Newbie blank question

NFC x-ray SJ 703 is my go to for 1/4oz -3/8oz. It will handle up to 1/2oz in my experience. Great walleye rod and I believe they are currently on sale. Also have a SB-724. That one is suitable for 3/8-3/4oz jig/plastic or minnow Re: Newbie blank question

Justin, Read the blank variance thread and look through the NFC process. Find a company with more transparency… I have no personal experience with PB, but most companies make great blanks. Find one you like and relate to, give them your money. I’ve built a few walleye rods for my brother in law who fishes in Minnesota. Both on Rod geeks and NFC. The SJ 703 X-ray is his preferred jigging rod. The latest and his favorite was cut down to 6’9”. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
