I have a rod i use a lot that has been stuck together since June 2021 when i made a post about ferrule wax. I tried to get it apart many times since then with no luck it's carbon to carbon ferrule. The other day I put a couple drops of KROIL on it and let it sit for a couple hours. I was able to pull it apart. I cleaned up both parts with alcohol and tried to put it back together and was met with great resistance it was trapped air in the butt.It has a rubber gimbal on it that has a hole in the center but had epoxy blocking it I drilled a hole in it and the rod now goes together and a part with ease. Another technique that works is wrapping the stuck ferrule area with crushed ice in a plastic bag which will shrink the materials allowing separation of the sections. Re: stuck ferrule since june 2021 FYI

A couple years ago, I purchased a number of 2-piece graphite blanks from Stryker Rods that were some of their remaining inventory from Rogue Rods. I picked up the blanks directly from their facility in Eugene, Oregon, so didn't try to separate the pieces before I left their facility. When I was later unable to separate the pieces, I contacted Stryker and they also mentioned applying something freezing cold to the ferrule. This was counter intuitive to me as I thought it would work better to apply heat to expand the female portion of the blank - but I was wrong!
I then used one of those gel-packs used to treat athletic injuries, and it worked like a charm! I froze the gel-pack, then wrapped each ferrule for about a minute, then the pieces came apart as designed! Not sure why it works, but I am now a believer!
