I have been having problems with the rod falling off the power wrapper when it is in the drying mode. This has only been happening when I have a ferrule attached to the blank. Besides not attaching the ferrule, is there any tricks to prevent this issue?

Make sure your guide stands are adjusted so the blank is level - or not “torqued” - or one stand higher than the other.

Also, the dryer motor will turn both directions - just hold it and it will switch. If it’s falling out when it turns one specific direction make sure you get it running the opposite

I used to have this problem often with my PacBay wrapper. Tried all sorts of tapes and materials on the jaws to help stop the problem to no avail. I suspect that your problem is the same as what I had. If all your stand wheels are still tightened down on the blank and aren't perfectly level, the blank is going to want to walk out of the chuck during the drying mode. Here's what I found out: if your stands can be made perfectly level that's great. But what I do now (have one on the dryer as I write this) is make sure that the stands aren't radically out of alignment and just loosen the screws on top wheels to take the tension off the blank so that the rod can move as it needs to without creating torque by having all the wheel screws tightened down. You can leave the bottom wheel adjustment screw as it is; it will act as a cradle for rod and by loosening the top screw rod and leaving it to contact the blank without pressure it won't allow the blank to fall out of the stands.

There is a really simple solution to your problem.

Rubber Band.

Simply take one or more rubber bands and loop it multiple times around the section of the rod that will be inserted into the dryer chuck.

If you have a typical multiple jaw chuck, the rubber bands compress and really insure a solid grab of the chuck to the rod.

I expect that you will not have any problems after that.

However, in addition to the rubber bands on the rod, ifyou find that still have issues, then, also take a rubber bande and loop it around the outside of the chuck, to insure that the jaws do not loosen and allow the the rod to move.

Further more, if you have a chuck with smooth metal jaws, take masking tape and put two or three layers of masking tape on the face of the jaws, that will be holding the rod. The masking tape both cushions the jaws as well as allowing the jaws to better grip the blank or butt of the rod.
