Hey yall, rather new to building. I've built 4 rods so far 1 ultralight and 3 bass rods on northfork blanks. But im wanting to build a heavy duty flathead catfish rod for fishing heavy water release (cfs) behind dams. I often throw up to 28-30 ounce of lead just to hold in and its not a cast but more of a lob. So far the 10 ft bigwater uglystick has worked great for me. Very stiff stout rod. Has anyone on here built on a steadfast rod blank? Also his 10 ft blanks are 1 peice so to avoid expensive shipping costs he's thinking of sending me a 8'6" blank and a 2 ft peice to go in the 8' peice from behind. Has anyone done this? I want to epoxy it in so it's solid. Thanks everyone and any and all advice is appreciated Re: Steadfast rods

The old Lamiglas 15 ft. Heavers were built that way, you bought a long blank and the extension to get them that long, worked for decades on sturgeon to 10 ft. just below Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River. Re: Steadfast rods
