Thinking about doing a build for pier fishing Boynton beach and Juno piers and also using at a surf caster.
Already have an 11 ft emcast that i purchased down there last year that is fairly light. Am considering something a little heavier somewhere in the 8–10 ft range for live bait. Re: Pier / surf fishing blank recommendations

Talk to some of the folks on Juno pier and they hold the BU-BA3K86/20-40 as the best option. Re: Pier / surf fishing blank recommendations

Hello Francis.
I don't know if it came out or not, if not I will dig up the paperwork and give you the #'s. [www.rodbuilding.org] Well the old memory strikes again I never got the #'s on this rod, it's just a glass blank with a custom handle but here goes the blank butt is .820 the tip is a 9, it was listed as a 25-30# but I always thought40-50# and treat it accordingly. The handle is interchangeable between a short(12") boat rod handle with or without gimble, and a long handle with mushroom caps, the seat is a 2 piece chrome over brass 3163, the guides are all CER in a cone of flight configuration 8-10-12-16-20-25-30-40, and aCERT8-9 top. She still works fine, I built her in 2008 before I retired. If you are going to be at the EXPO I can bring it down with me and show it to you in person, if not I hope I didn't waste to much of your time. Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines. In my opinion a 9’ 1-4oz medium fast surf blank would be Idea for piers and jetties. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
