Reel refurishing question

After I service the reel what paint manf and clear sealer is recommended?
Have tried different types for both but so far not working out.
Looking for some advice from others please.

Not sure that many, if any here, paint reels. I would think some sort of appliance epoxy would be about the best you'll do.

Back during the marbling craze, saw several use rod marbling products that are used on rods.

I've had some pretty good results with rattle-can Rustolium paint and sealer.
A good prep regimen is critical for success.

I refinished an old Mauser with one of this company's products, and the results were extraordinary. I don't see why it would not work on reels. Give these guys a call and see what they have to say.

Maybe one of the two part paints they use on RC airplanes, cars, etc.

Daniel - A good friend informed me that most reels are not painted but rather anodized
