Yes - these are complete carbon fiber (except the insert)

If there is an actual weight savings, for sure, put em out there. There are many people that would use them for the aesthetics, I would use them if there was a performance enhancement. You won't know until you go, paddle out and guinea pig it for us.

It would be nice to have a source for carbon fiber guides. Right now it is just Daiwa and St. Croix with carbon fiber guides made by Fuji. No idea if or when the guides alone will be sold. Is there a measurable benefit over titanium guides? Dunno, but probably doesn't matter. More choice is always good. If you can sell them at a price not too much more than Fuji titanium I think there would be quite a few buyers.

No, not for me. Too much bulk in the frame.

I would be interested if they are any good, what testing have you done?

1. How hard is it to knock a ring out of the frame?
2. how heavy are they compared to titanium?
3. How pliable are they?
4. What type of inserts can you get them in?

Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines.

I've never liked putting metal framed guides on a rod blank. Have been hoping for either a nylon composite or carbon framed guide. It has to happen at some point.

From my experience with carbon fiber guides on a Daiwa rod:
1) Very hard to knock out a ring under normal use
2) Lighter than titanium, but don't know how much
3) They are not pliable. Very stiff, they do not bend.
4) I think the Daiwa (Fuji) inserts are SIC

Yeah ... I agree with Dennis. I'll stick with titanium if I want ultra light guides. If you get Fuji guides in the black titanium, they're a lot prettier than what I see here.

How thick are the feet? What sizes available? Or just a marketing test?

I think they are pretty ugly and am not interested. One thing I like about Fuji micros is how unobtrusive they are, and the larger size KLH's are pretty stylish, IMO.

I think they will be hit....already seeing them on Diawa products (AGS).

I think the saltwater rod market will welcome them. No corrosion. Strength and cost will be the considerations.

Lighter than titanium and corrosion free will be a huge hit with the surf rod market but if the price exceeds that of titanium frames you can forget it . I think they will be cheaper myself.

No doubt they will be bulkier guide frames than stainless or titanium because the bulk is needed to achieve the strength but that doesn't bother me if in reality they weigh less .

Now we will need a wind resistance test to see how much they slow recovery speed.

Are the frames completely smooth or do they like an uncoated weave? Guides like to collect gunk and I wouldn't want to encourage that with textured guides

I would try them. I think they would pair well with the 2 x ray co2 sj764 blanks I received this week. That being say price would play a factor.
