Abu Garcia Veritas

I need to replace sone guides on a couple of Abu Garcia Veritas VETC76-6 rods. The description online states titanium alloy with zirconium inserts. I’ve looked at a few of the vendors and haven’t been able to identify the brand. They look like older Fuji, but are also similar to the CRB runners. I’m trying to stick to the original guides. Any assistance would be appreciated.

No chance they are fuji. Also not CRB, as they don't make titanium guides. I think they are a proprietary brand for Abu and you likely won't be able to find any. Having said that, pick something that looks close and no on will be the wiser.

You may also be able to contact Abu/Pure Fishing to see if they can send you a few guides. Abu Garcia has always had good customer service especially for a Doyo brand

Doesn't Alps have titanium with zirchonium rings? Might have some luck there if the contacting Abu thing doesn't pan out.

Australian adverts state that Fuji Alconite K frame guides are used. This was for the earlier versions. I have 2 spinning rods from series 2 and they are branded Fuji guides on them (Well, they were until I replaced them with lighter ones). l’ve just checked and ABU’s official Oz web site also states this, but there’s a couple of on line shops saying the guides are titanium/zirconium. An inspection with a magnifying glass would be warranted, if possible.

Hopefully you have found your guides already. If not... I got 2 similar Abu Garcia rods in my shop today. The both have Sea Guide guides on them. 1Ti and 1 pvd gunmetal. Oddly they both have broken inserts on the first guide.

Go to a retail store that sells fishing rods. Look for some Abu Garcia rods on sale, they should have a tag attached to them. They usually have a description about the guide type and material. I was at a Walmart the other day and looked at some. Some stated ring material either as titanium oxide or zirconium, if not aluminum oxide. Maybe you can find a Veritas rod on sale with the tag to find out what you are looking for.

Also on the tags I've seen so far, most of them stated Seaguide as their guide manufacturer.

If you would like, maybe I can find a Veritas rod on sale at a local Academy and check the tag for you. Maybe also take a close look at the guides and see if they are indeed Seaguide made.
