Didn't know G Loomis made that heavy a Bucara rod, last I heard it stopped at a 6 power. The MUR 844C was made in both GL2 and GL3, they are not the same. Since they are built rods listed how could they be measured? Lots of time their blanks were not listed with tip and butt size, let alone the wall thickness to get an ID. Don't think I ever saw a bare blank in the Bucara line. I think I may have a GL2 musky rod in the racks in the shed, I think it's a teardown for rebuild that went south, it has a metal fight butt on it so I would have to measure above the butt, I know the butt has .78" ID bore and if I remember right the butt was a tight fit, might have had to sand the end of the butt lightly to get it to fit when built over 20 years ago.
