Hello, first let me start off by saying that I am new to this hobby/addiction. I have been lurking around this room reading for about a month now with no post. I have ordered and a reading Tom Kirkmans book and am getting ready to order Dale Clemens book. My question is... I am getting ready to order my blank and componiants {SP} the blank I have choosen is a St Croix 2C66MHF PC66HF. What I need to know is a dealer who will provide good advise on what guides and other parts I will be needing to complete this rod. Any and all comments are welcome.. Thanks Eric Smith Re: First Rod

Who were you going to order your rod from. there are a few things you should know when ordering componet parts tip top size, length of rod, rod butt diameter, typ of reelseat you want and the style of guides that would suite you purpose. You should talk to at least one of the suppliers on the left. There are all excellant people to work with. In what state are you located??? Re: First Rod

I am new to this also. I live in the midwest and have found Karen Hapka at Bingham Enterprises to be very helpful and patient with a rookie like myself. Dave Patterson Re: First Rod

Eric, I would recommend that you make a phone call to the shop you are buying your blanks from. They should be able to give you expert advice. Dick French of Clemens Tackle, and Custom Tackle Supply have given me excellent advice and great pricing. Highly recommended. It is easier to have the blank seller include a tip that fits, than figuring it out yourself, in my opinion. Make the call to your vendor... TH Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
