I have built a couple of 5wt rods for friends and am now tasked building a CTS Crystalglass 2wt, 6'-6" 3pc and am unsure of what the best type of guides to use. I have ordered a set of double foot snake wire fly guides and a set of single foot wire guides. I understand that either will work but would like some advice before I get going.
The rod will be used in small mountain streams in Wyoming. Thanks Jeremy Re: CTS CrystalGlass 2wt 6'6" 3 piece guide question

You are going to get several opinions.
I do not care for the look of single foot guides. I’d use snakes, Snake Brand with that blank. Being a 2wt, I’d use the Originals, since you can use 2/0 as your smallest guide. You have a quality blank, use quality guides on it. Some will say Single Foots have less weight, depends on brand, and one less guide wrap. Re: CTS CrystalGlass 2wt 6'6" 3 piece guide question

Thank you Bill Hickey. I agree with the double foot snake wire guides. They look better and any additional weight on this build will be minimal.
I will look into the Snake Brand guides. You are right this blank deserves quality components. Jeremy Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
