Heya rodbuilders,
Iam looking into travel rods for salt water topwater fishing. Mainly stickbaits. Anyone has experience with the NFC popping blanks? LMX-SWP794-4 for example. I really like that they are 4-piece rods compared to most japanese offerings that are all 3 piece making them 90-94cm broken down which just doesnt fit my normal suitcase. But the reasoning for the 3piece blanks is that they are stronger so i wonder how this NFC blank holds up. I hope someone already build one and has some tips about what they like or didnt like about the built and blank. Thanks!! Re: NFC Travel saltwater popping blank

Gary Loomis holds more patents for ferrules than anyone else. His ferrules will not be a problem unless you fish them loose, but that applies to every ferrule system. In over 40+ years none off his ferrules have failed me. I'd be sure I could fish that long a rod in the boat I will be using without slapping the water with the rod tip. Sorry I'm a little late on this one. if you have a FB account, you can go check Goulven's review of the blank. He took it to Costa Rica, and in a nutshell: it's quite a good light popping blank, up to advertised specs.
