It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Al Jackson one of our engineers. AJ was one the worlds foremost composite engineers, consulting for the US military, a renowned golf shaft designer, a rod and blank designed for Lews, G.Loomis, and many others prior to his last 10 year tenure at Edge Rods and North Fork Composites. Those that knew AJ on a personal level, knew him as a mad scientist and a gentle giant. You will be greatly missed AJ.

Very sorry to hear it. Had many good conversations with AJ over the years. Very knowledgeable and easily one of the least recognized individuals in the world of rod blank design and manufacturing. His work in this field goes WAY back. I'll aways remember the way he started each phone conversation.... "Hey Tom, this is AJ."

Never met AL Jackson, but I know he was very instrumental in the design of modern fishing rods. He designed a lot of rods for a lot of different manufacturers and we owe him our gratitude. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I'm going to miss that guy.. Definitely a "mad scientist" type of engineer as Aleks mentioned. There was never a dull conversation with him. Rest easy AJ.
