What's the best way to ream a 14 inch full grip when the length and taper of the reamer doesn't get it done straight through? Building rods in MA, Building the community around the world Re: Full Grips Longer Than Reamer

You could:
1: Ream if from the other end too. 2: If its cork...you could cut it in half. If you wanted to make your own...shot me an email and I will send you the materials. I bought a roll of the this tape sand paper and it like a life time supply. Re: Full Grips Longer Than Reamer

Ream one end then ream the other end to fit. Any imperfections/gaps will fill with glue when you build it. Re: Full Grips Longer Than Reamer

They must be making them shorter now, all my old shop bought reamers were long enough, my home builds are like 3 ft. long. Re: Full Grips Longer Than Reamer

Take a piece of solid rod blank and use it to create an extension to your current reamer.
Or, simply build a new reamer that is longer and of a size that will suit your needs. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
