Hey Ya'll,

It is finally time to start building my NFC fly blanks that I have had for 6 moths...I'm wanting you advice...I know it is a hot bed of controversy.

Single foot vs ceramic vs snake guides...

What do you use and why?

I am building...all NFC IM classic blanks...

2pc
8' 3wt
8'6" 4wt
9' 5wt
9' 6wt
9' 8wt

Thank you!

Single foot wire guides on 3-6 wt. Ring guides on the 8wt.

Single foot due to weight saving (thread & epoxy) additionally they keep the line off the blank, primarily on the backcast.

Ring guides on the 8wt due to potential weight of fish caught, ie. a little more durable.

Personal preference - we like Microwave single-foot stripper, then single-foot ceramic itanium running guides over 5 wt, below 5wt microwave single-foot stripper with wire snakes to save weight and wind resistance.

Regards.
