NFC soft touch

Hey guys, I’m gonna upload some pictures to show what I’m about to ask but it may be hard to tell from just the photos what I’m curious about.
So I’ve had to ream the walls of the inlet on my nfc soft touch grip for the”winding check” that comes with the grip (the one that goes around the reel seat hood) to fit inside said inlet. I painstakingly did this by hand by putting my pinky inside a dremel sanding drum and swirling around to the desired size. I did this as to not alter the depth of the inlet. Well, what I was trying to avoid from happening was kind of pointless because the depth of the inlet was already deeper than what I needed. With that being said, how much of a big deal is it having the bottom part of the inlet not in contact with a reel seat? I’m mainly worried about water somehow getting in but not being able to escape. A similar concern is happening on the top of the grip. Where the Fuji winding check meets the grip, there’s open space inside of the grip because the Fuji winding check is sort of a dome shape. Is there anything I should do to fill these gaps to make the rod water tight? Sorry for the lengthy post and if this is silly, I admit I am an overthinker. Re: NFC soft touch

Paste epoxy, just fill the voids in at each end where water can enter. With any kind of reel seat or grip it should be done. Re: NFC soft touch

Now I know what you meant about the sanding. Sorry about that. I did have to finesse the foam to fit the AT hood.
When you paste epoxy it up just pre coat the foam under the hood if you feel it necessary. The amount that will push down from the walls should more than suffice. With the winding check you don't need to fill that at all. just paste it to the handle and rod ensuring a seal. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
