Sanding thread finish

Hello,

I have a split grip that after I applied the finish to the blank section, it dried with some ripples. Can I sand this down with say 400 grit and reapply the finish or should I just leave it alone? Appreciate any help.

Dan

600 wet and dry would be fine

Grit I use when saving underwraps, trim etc to smooth it down a bit before binding on a new guide.

Can't notice it after the finish is applied.

Or you could go 400 then 600

Just not sure with a 400 scuff

No reason to apply epoxy to that area. But since you have and it's not as level as you want, sand with 400 grit on a sanding block to ensure flat. Then apply a very, very thin application of epoxy and it should be fine.

Yes you can sand it but definitely use a sanding block.

Have fun

How many coats of epoxy have you done? I usually do 2 sometimes 3 coats of epoxy.

How much room between the grips? As per above, create some form of sanding block. I often wrap fine grit paper around a ruler and use that as it is nice and flat.
