Hi,
I am looking at some blanks for a 6'spinning rod, using .008 dia. mono (sometimes 8-3 fireline) using 3/16 oz. (mostly) lures for mainly smallmouth bass (under 17" mostly) in creeks. I am looking at the following blanks. Batson REVS59L-SB 4-10 lb., 1/16-1/4 oz. Batson IMMWS62L-TC 4-10lb., 1/16-14 oz. Batson SP721-2CG 2-6lb., 1/16-1/4 oz. NEPS72-LM-2-MHX 2-6lb., 1/8-3/8 oz. Has anyone here used any of these or a similar NFC blank?? Any thoughts (ease of casting 3/16oz., protecting 4lb. mono, etc.) on these blanks for the fishing described above? Thanks Re: 6'spinning, 4lb. mono, 3/16 oz. ??

NFC SB5100-1, their version of the great G Loomis' SJR700 rod, I love mine with 4 - 6 lb. line on smallmouth your size, it is also an excellent deep water crappie rod among many other things, very versatile. Re: 6'spinning, 4lb. mono, 3/16 oz. ??

Thanks Spencer,
I appreciate the on the water experience of the SB5100-1 for the smallmouth and deep water crappie. I get to fish spring crappies (10' or less) and the ability to use this blank without tearing their paper mouths is good to know. Re: 6'spinning, 4lb. mono, 3/16 oz. ??

Gary,
All of these blanks will work fine for the purpose. For myself, I use similar blanks for this purpose - but use a longer 6'6" blank for more casting distance. Take care Re: 6'spinning, 4lb. mono, 3/16 oz. ??

Roger,
I was kind of thinking that might be the case. I appreciate the advise. Re: 6'spinning, 4lb. mono, 3/16 oz. ??

Ever wonder about the difference between the word asvise and the word advice?
The following may be food for thought: "The main difference between advice vs advise is that “advise” (with an S) is a verb, which means to recommend, or to give information to someone. On the other hand, “advice” (with a C) is a noun: an opinion or recommendation offered as a guide to action." Take care Re: 6'spinning, 4lb. mono, 3/16 oz. ??
