1st carbon graphite rod?

Does anybody here know who or what company made the first carbon graphite rods and what year it was? Thx. Re: 1st carbon graphite rod?

It would have been somewhere around 1973 or 1974. I'd guess either Fenwick or Lamiglas. Don Green was certainly working with carbon at Fenwick in the early 1970's.

Hi Norm good catch! I found this on the computer: July 9, 2022 by Cristopher Gilmore Carbon Fiber – Along with Fenwick, the company that generally gets credit for building the first graphite-composite fishing rod in 1973, Lamiglas, Shakespeare and Garcia-Conolon were among the pioneers that brought hollow graphite-composite rods to the market in the early ’70s.
