Date: September 23, 2013 07:43PM Is this Customgrip or Customgrip II? 6 full pieces with heavy variegation in the graining, 1 short piece on end showing graining and extrusion method of material, and low quality turned piece that was rejected for lack of contrast in the grain. There used to be a lot of variation in the contrast of this material. You would have to order in lots of pieces and match them up for multiple builds. As I used to buy this for charter rods, I would have to keep 50+ pieces on hand to have 8-12 similar grips for a set of rods for one boat. The reject rate, those grips with low contrast, was about 25% for me. This stuff holds up amazingly well to commercial use year after year. It's denser and softer than EVA and resists both impression and cuts very well. It conforms a bit to the anglers hand when fighting a large fish making it very comfortable. I really liked this stuff and wish you could still get it. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
