Date: February 05, 2009 11:59AM Finished my first rod the other day. Dad wanted a jigging rod for walleyes so I used Forecast components that I bought from Al and Bill at Midwest Rod and Reel. I used a 6 1/2' RX7 blank, G-16 reel seat, Double Black Chrome guides using NGC and Forhan locking wrap. I turned the grips using eastern red cedar with a 2008 penny inlay. The decal was done using a tutorial I found that was authored by Dave Rogers. I used gold Gudebrod as the underlay color. It was perfect for the walleye coloring! Dad will be in town this weekend so we'll begin the next project which will be a crappie rod. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
