New Rod for an Old Friend

Built this Lamiglas IMP903-3 (6-12# line, 1/4-1/2oz. lure, popping rod) to pair with a Mitchell 300, that I bought in 1974, with some financial assistance from my grandfather (I was just a kid, and had been saving my allowance, but $20 seemed like an impossible amount). I wanted a light rod that could target any FW species, and a few salties, as well. On its first outing, the rod landed a 20" rainbow. Second time out-it tamed a 20# carp that hit, while I was jigging for walleyes. 3rd trip is scheduled for this week-maybe a 40" Pike??? AmTak Aero seat, Gudebrod A Black Nylon, with Silver HT metallic accent. Epoxy ramps. PermaGloss over chipped paint and bare aluminum to preserve the "character" of the reel, and keep my hand from picking up the aluminum oxidation. Reel foot has been filed to fit the size 16 seat.
