Date: August 06, 2013 10:56AM Still playing around with the new carbon fiber and natural (not dyed) fiberglass hybrid tubing. In corresponding with Capt. Mike at Riley Rods, he mentioned that he thought a mirrored undercoating would be a neat concept. I agreed and this is my first attempt. I used Champion 'Sterling Silver' spray enamel. It is very silver and very metallic but not quite a mirrored or chrome finish. I did a wet lay with 2 coats of Riley Rods 321, sanded flat and applied Permagloss while spinning on the lathe using the foam brush technique. I just can't seen to get a good photo of these types of grips. All the photos come out flat and lifeless and you completely lose the depth and the internal brightness they have in direct sunlight. Nonetheless, I am happy with the result. Would look great on a Titanium Chrome finished blank... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
