Date: June 28, 2006 10:25AM Sorry for the low quality photo, but I wanted to share pics on another shark caught near Seaside, Florida in early June 2006. The angler is Trey Falconer of Thomasville, GA. This shark taped 6'2" tip-to-tip and had him down to a dozen turns of line no less than three times. The rod is a Rainshadow SU1266F built using the New Concept guide set up described several times in RodMaker magazine. The guides were Fuji Alconites sized 30-20-12-10s out to a size 10 BMNAT top. The rod casts great and will pass shock leaders up to 80 lbs. with no problems. Refer to RM Volume 7 #1 for details. I also built this same blank as a casting rod using a modified O'Quinn spiral wrap and size 16 running guides and I definitely get more distance out of the casting configuration than I do with spinning. Both fight fish extremely well. Thanks to Tom K. and Bob McKamey for all their help and instruction in building these rods. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
