Date: March 20, 2008 10:14AM Took me nearly a year to finish this rod, and such a simple wrap. I've been gone so much had to do in sections. Threadmaster CP worked very well on the butt wrap. Very watery, easy to work with and seems like it will be a hard one to mess up. I even tried taking a heat gun to it and sped up the drying process, it still worked like a champ! (Not recommended). Madeira threads, Sulky silver metallic. Threadmaster lite for finish, took me five coats on the butt wrap to get proper coverage. Sounds excessive but I tend to get better results with several thin coats than trying to put more on. This is the second rod in a row where the Sulky metallic and only the sulky metallic loosened up in the butt wrap after CP was applied, not sure I'm going to use it in butt wraps anymore.
