I am looking for blank suggestions for a 7 foot blank over 50lb for bottom fishing for grouper off Florida’s Gulf coast. Thanks I'd rather be catching! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/10/2022 03:49PM by Eddie Anderson. Re: Grouper rod blank suggestions

Check out the United composites raptor and United composites challenger platinum c70hp or c70hp xh. Great USA made blanks.
I suggest these blanks as they provide tremendous backbone while still maintaining a nice tip section. Many blanks out there are powerful, but they don’t provide the action and feel of the named UC blanks. Re: Grouper rod blank suggestions

Check out the Nanophene Extreme Bushido either in a 30-50lb or the 50-80lb they're all 7'2. I'm building one this year for my Accurate 500 2 speed for winter Grouper fishing out of Hudson FL in about 75' of water. But it will do double duty for east coast Bull Reds and Red Snapper off shore. They're light in weight but have a crazy amount of power. Seem to me they would be sensitive enough for lighter stuff like chicken rigs for snapper and grunt but still be perfect for grouper and even Amberjack! I checked them all out when I was at American Tackle last time. Going to more then likely build 2 of them once I'm done with my current projects. Re: Grouper rod blank suggestions

Blanks I see been used, Seeker GTS70M, or H. MHX SW70H. American Tackle AXVJ50-250, or AXVJ60-325. Rainshadow RCKJB700-250, or 325 are popular on charters. The 325 is called his "wee beasty" by one angler I know. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
