I noticed the search function is no longer working. Anyone else having the same problem?
I'm wondering if it's tied to the launch of the new mobile app? Whatever it is, it isn't working. Re: Search function

I just tried a forum search for loomis through firefox and it works for me.
Are you saying it is only in the app that search is not working? Re: Search function

David,
I believe what you are describing is a limitation of the search function in phorum (the software that powers the forum). I believe that the default is 5 characters for a search (to achieve a higher level of match) so if you are searching for a three or four character word, it will come up empty. The easiest workaround is adding a * or a ** behind whatever search term you are using to get it to that 5 character minimum. If you are searching for CCS - nothing will come up, however, if you search for CCS** you will get search results. Make sure you have it set for "all time" This is the reason why Kent is able to get numerous hits on Loomis I do see the value of having the shorter search term available...and am already working on making that possible - but it is not App related. thanks for the replies. I just want to describe what I am experiencing.
First, I am talking about the search function for the site itself. Specifically the "Search Authors" option. I have it set to show results as messages. The results are the same whether I search all forums, or rodboard. It matters not what length of time I search, the results are the same. Prior to discovering the problem, when I typed in my name, or any other members name, it would show specific posts made by that individual. If the individual had multiple posts to a thread, it listed each one of those posts in descending order . Now it lists just the post that opened the thread, and you must search through the entire thread to find a post you or other specific individuals might have made. The way it was, was excellent. The way it is now, is horrible. For instance ..... Norman Miller posts CCS numbers for quite a few different blanks. If I wanted to go back and look at the numbers he posted for a blank I would simply put his name in the search authors box, select all dates, and it would show me every post Norman has made to any thread. It was easy to go through his posts to find the post with the information I was seeking. As we all know, the subject of a thread can contain information that the threads title may not lead you to believe is in there. I sincerely hope that it will somehow go back to the way it was, Because the way it is now, it is more than frustrating, and for me, will make the search function virtually useless. Please put it back to the way it was !!! Again I appreciate the replies. Re: Search function

Click on his name from any page (you do not need to be logged in) His user profile will come up - click “Show all posts” at the bottom, and you should get a result that looks like this: Is that the view you are looking for? We have not made any changes to the search function though...and I am curious if anyone else is experiencing an issue that they did not have in the past.

David, I can see where you are coming from. Didn’t know I had a 112 pages of posts. Finding a specific post can be quite time consuming and daunting. If you need any of the CCS numbers I have previously posted, email me and I’ll give you what I have. Unfortunately, I have not done CCS evaluations on all the blanks I’ve used over the years. Wish I had but I didn’t. Micheal Danek also has a bunch of CCS data that covers blanks I haven’t tested. I have made available to everyone here the CCS excel database previously put together by Gib Portwood. It contains the published CCS data of the time for PacBay Quickline blanks, many of the NFC blanks, and Point Blank blanks. In addition, it has a handy ERN calculator. I’m always willing to share anything I have.

Aleks, thank you for replying. Very much appreciated. And yes ..... that is the view I was looking for, and the view that used to come up when you typed anyone's name into the search authors box in the search function. Thank you for the tip about clicking on a members name to see all their posts. I had no idea you could do that. I've always just used the search function.
And I certainly believe you when you say you didn't make any changes to the search function. I will add .... at least no changes were meant to be made. I just tried it again the manner I have always used, and it is showing them as I described above. And that is the opening post of threads I have posted in. Oh well..... you have provided me with a work around, and I am very grateful for that. Thank you!!! Norman, I appreciate your offer very much. I always go back and search old threads for CCS numbers that have been posted for a blank I may be interested in. In this case I just used searching your name for CCS numbers as an example. But I will definitely keep your offer in mind for future use. Thank you again kind sir..... I always know I can count on you for that kind of help. And that is very comforting.
