I am, for the first time applying cork wraps to surf blanks. The beginning and endings of the wrap do not adhere very well, eventhough the blanks were well cleaned using alcohol. Is it safe to apply a thin epoxy coating directly over the wrap to prevent unraveling, or would it be adviseable to thread the wrap ends before using any adhesive or cork wrap sealer?
Many Thanks Tom Wood Re: Cork Handle Wrap Adhesion

You can do it that way or on the butt end install a butt cap over the cork tape. I’ve installed heat shrink tubing over the cork tape and that makes a nice grip or maybe a small piece of shrink tubing at the beginning of the cork tape. Re: Cork Handle Wrap Adhesion

You can do a short piece of heat shrink just to bind down the ends. If you like, you can overwrap the shrink tube with thread in your choice of color. It's actually easier to wrap thread on the shrink tubing than it is on the cork tape.
