Is anyone familiar with the IM6 flyrod blanks made by Talon but branded and re-sold as PacBay blanks, before PacBay started sourcing their blanks off-shore? I picked up some New Old Stock and can't wait to build them. There were Forest Green, Olive Green, Matte Black and Burgundy. I picked up a pair of Olive Green and a pair of the Matte Black. They all seem to have the same action, but I thought the Forest Green were a little softer. Re: Talon IM6 Flyrod Blanks made for PacBay (Back in the Day)

The forest green may have been a lighter line weight series. Action is where the rod bends, not how stiff or soft it is.

Thank you, Tom. I liked the Olive Green better so took that one home Re: Talon IM6 Flyrod Blanks made for PacBay (Back in the Day)

Hard to say, there was also a time when AllStar was building their and others blanks also. The shop blank line for Angler's Workshop when they were in Woodand Wa. were Talon blank, some GUSA and some Seeker that I know of for sure. The Talon blanks in the rootbeer brown were IM6 blanks.
In my recollection the burgundy were Tradition blanks IM6, the green Rainforest IM7, gloss black the Professional series which were US built after the others went offshore. I'm fuzzy on the matt black. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/15/2022 10:12AM by Spencer Phipps. Re: Talon IM6 Flyrod Blanks made for PacBay (Back in the Day)

As Mr. Phipps said, hard to say, because if they truly were produced by Talon for PB (which was a long time ago), they should all be the same actions. And as he mentioned they have produced for others such as AWS etc. where maybe they are not the same.
Before going overseas, PB blanks took a few different detours through; SoCal production, Talon/WA, Tridon/OK, Allstar/TX and Pac Bay even built/owned Cascade Graphite, Longview WA. Darrin Heim Re: Talon IM6 Flyrod Blanks made for PacBay (Back in the Day)

Thank you, Darrin and Mr. Phipps. I am curious if you know where the gloss black Professional Series were made. These were made before PacBay went offshore or recently? THANK YOU Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
