Hello,
Novice rod builder here. I'm planning on building a few casting rods using the Fuji ECSM reel seats. I'm really digging the look of the Fuji Flared Tapered Cork Grip for SKST16/17. Unfortunately I do not have these components on hand. Knowing the cork grip is made for the SK2 reel seats, I'm trying to figure out if I will need to modify the grips in any way. I've looked at Anglers Resource' Handle Book for guidance but having no luck. Will I need to modify the tendon? Appreciate the help. Re: Fuji Grip Modification

I don’t believe the SKST grip will fit the the ECSM seat. They have a different ODs and the tenon on the SKST grip is too small for the ECM seat. The SKST grip/seat is smaller than most other standard size grips and seats. Find a standard grip that you like with an OD of 27mm and with a 23 mm tenon and you’ll be fine.

Owen, Fuji offers the BGA95RC rear cork that fits the PTS, ACS and ECS seats if you are building a rod with split grips. The butt cork is BGK485RC. No modifications needed, just ream to fit the blank. Good luck. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
