I have not but a friend has built and is using an 8 and likes it. From looking at the bend it is a little faster than what I would call a traditional action. I don't have numbers.

My 8 wt clocks in at 175 grams and 75 degrees. I broke the tip and they were accommodating in replacing it.

I have not used the Rodgeeks fly blanks but if your 8-weight model comes in at nearly a half pound either your math is off or they make a very heavy rod blank.

The 8 wt is a 2 oz. blank.

Mike,
These are CCS numbers, not blank weight.
I measured the blank weight at 2.04 ounces.

I saw grams and related that to weight.

A few other blanks I've found, all are 9" and four piece blanks (I think). Which ones on the list below should I consider? Which ones should I delete? Which ones should I add to the list? Listed from highest price to lowest
Batson Eternity
NFC Beta Gamma
Batson Revelation
MHX
RODgeeks
TFO

Thanks guys!

They are all good blanks, 9t really depends what you are looking for and type or rod you want.

Go cast a St. Croix Imperial and you will basically be casting a RodGeeks G4 blank.

TFO does not seem to offer too many blanks any longer, I think the Pro II may be it.
