If I was building it, I would use 12 & 10 double foot strippers and size 3 single foot wire guides for the rest. Re: GUIDE SIZES FOR 11' NORTH FORK LMX FLYROD

6 weight. I would do #12 and 10 (or 8) stripping guides and follow with all 3's (2's would be OK as well). [www.rodbuilding.org]
You going single foot or snake guides? Re: GUIDE SIZES FOR 11' NORTH FORK LMX FLYROD

I built a Sage: 12, 10, 3 which is the same ID as my 10, than 2s to the tip. Works great. Re: GUIDE SIZES FOR 11' NORTH FORK LMX FLYROD

I've built mine using full fuji torzite guides. KW 16 12 then KT 10 8 and the rest KT7
I find this set up shoots an impressive amount of line _______________________________________________ If I'm not going to catch anything, then I'd rather not catch anything on flies. Prostaff Rodhouse [www.rodhouse.fr] Re: GUIDE SIZES FOR 11' NORTH FORK LMX FLYROD

well, that's exactly the point. the concept stems from my distance casting rods, which were inspired from tuna popping xxh rods. the idea being to try and minimize friction by having straight concentric guides when seen along the blank axis. the difference is probably small, but I quite like the way it feels when the the running lines shoots into the guides. _______________________________________________ If I'm not going to catch anything, then I'd rather not catch anything on flies. A fly line is ten or more times thicker than a mono or braid spinning line, and a fly line is several times less flexible than a mono or braid spinning line. Comparisons between fly line and spinning rod lines are unlikely to provide much useful information. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/22/2021 09:44AM by Phil Ewanicki.
